Hepatitis A -- United States
The Hawai'i Department of Health (DOH) is investigating a handful of hepatitis A cases on O'ahu and Maui. Four of the cases are on O'ahu, and one is on Maui. DOH reports that the people were infected sometime between 28 Mar 2021 and 3 Jun 2021. Four people had to be hospitalized.
According to the state, all have a history of drug use, and 3 are homeless. In 2018, the state reported 4 hepatitis A cases. Symptoms can include fever, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, jaundice and diarrhea. The
