Hantavirus -- Chile
Authorities confirmed the 6th case of [a] hantavirus infection in the Los Ríos region this season , the same number of infections that occurred all of last year [2016].
The affected individuals is a 56 year old man, resident of the Los Lagos community, who showed suspicious [indications] of having contracted the virus [infection], according to results of the initial tests done by the laboratory of the Universidad Austral de Chile.
