Anthrax threatens Ponjong and Semanu subdistricts in Gunung Kidul district, Yogyakarta province, after 27 residents were infected from consuming the meat of a dead cow, a local health official said on Wednesday [15 Jan 2020].
On 4 Jan 2020, health workers found that 600 residents of the 2 subdistricts could have been affected by anthrax, and 78 of them were observed to have the clinical features of this disease, Sumitro, head of the Disease Prevention and Control Unit at the Gunung Kidul
