Experts have expressed concern over the steady rise in the number of reported cases of leishmaniasis in the country.
Data from the Health Ministry show that the number of cases of the disease, also known as kala-azar, rose from 907 in 2018 to 1463 in 2019, before dropping to 1200 last year [2020].
