Influenza -- Canada
The Calgary area accounted for 5 of 6 deaths reported so far in this year's [2018-19] flu season, according to information released by Alberta Health Services [AHS] this week.
The city's health zone has also been home to 1241 known cases of influenza A, or 63 per cent of the 1985 instances of illness in the province, says AHS.
By comparison, the Edmonton zone has seen no deaths and only 273 cases. One death has occurred in the province's north zone.
