On 1 Aug 2018, an Ebola virus outbreak was declared in Nord Kivu, after 4 out of 6 samples from patients affected by an 'unknown disease' tested positive. This outbreak is the 2nd one in DRC since the beginning of 2018, and comes barely one week after the last Ebola virus outbreak in Equateur province was officially declared over.
