Tropical Race 4 (TR4) of Fusarium oxysporum cubense that is threatening banana crops globally has hit the plantations in India, the world's top producer of the fruit. The devastating disease surfaced in [the state of] Bihar in 2015 and had spread to Uttar Pradesh last year [2017] and now [2018] to Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, threatening heavy losses. However, details of total acreage affected were not available.
