A deer-killing viral infection has been found for the 1st time in a deer in Washington state, according to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The deer was part of a herd east of Goldendale in Klickitat County, which shares a county line with Benton County.
Fish and Wildlife has been receiving reports of dead fawns from early July through August [2017]. Samples were collected and sent to Washington State University's Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory,
