In a follow-up on the locally-acquired cyclospora outbreak in British Columbia and Ontario, Canada, The Public Health Agency of Canada reports 37 additional cases of the protozoan parasitic infection in the past 2 weeks.
A total of 57 cases have been reported in 2 provinces: British Columbia (5) and Ontario (52). Individuals became sick between May and June of this year [2017]. The majority of cases (58%) are male, with an average age of 50 years.
