Tick-borne disease -- United States
The daughter of a 58-year-old woman from Sullivan has confirmed that her mother died from complications relating to the Bourbon virus [infection] contracted by a tick bite.
The woman was the assistant park superintendent at Meramec State Park in Sullivan. She had lived and worked in the park for 10 years.
Her daughter, who is a registered nurse, said the cause of death is listed as respiratory failure, but she feels it was brought on by the tick-borne virus. She died on 23 Jun [2017]
