Avian Influenza H7N9 -- China
Local health authorities said 4 more human cases of [avian influenza A/H7N9] have been reported in eastern Jiangxi Province, including one fatality. The new cases brought the number of infections in the province this year [2017] to 36 and fatalities to 12, according to the provincial health and family planning commission. The province has increased supervision of local poultry markets. H7N9 is an avian influenza strain first reported to have infected humans in China in March 2013. Infections
