Ross River Virus -- Australia
More than 200 West Australians have been infected with the mosquito-borne Ross River virus [RRV] this year [2017], but experts say the impact of unseasonal rain last month [February 2017] is yet to bite.
WA Health Department figures show 222 people were infected in January and February [2017], 75 of them in the [Perth] metropolitan area.
