Scrub Typhus -- India
Shimla is in the grip of scrub typhus fever again and it has claimed the lives of 7 people until now.
Scrub typhus is an acute, febrile infectious illness is caused by mites. In the past 9 months, 1500 samples have been collected at the Indira Gandhi Medical College [IGMC] and Hospital and over 250 have tested positive for the fever.
