MERS -- Saudi Arabia
Between 20 Jul 2016 and 18 Aug 2016, the National IHR Focal Point of Saudi Arabia reported 8 additional cases of Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) including 1 fatal case. The death of 2 previously reported MERS cases was also reported.
Details of the cases
1. 39 year old male from Alkharj city, Riyadh Region developed symptoms on 11 Aug 2016 and was admitted to a hospital on 16 Aug 2016. A nasopharyngeal swab was collected on 17 Aug 2016 and tested positive for MERS-CoV on 18 Aug
