Public Health England, using whole genome sequencing, has connected 115 cases of _Salmonella [enterica_ serotype] Agona since 2014 to other European cases, but the source of the outbreak remains elusive. Most of the _S._ Agona illnesses in the United Kingdom occurred in the past 2 years; there have been 53 so far in 2018, with 37 in 2017. The 1st cases from the specific strain of the bacterium were reported in April 2014.
