Rift Valley Fever -- Kenya
On 8 Jun 2018, the Ministry of Health (MoH) for Kenya confirmed an outbreak of Rift Valley fever. The 1st patient was admitted to a hospital in Wajir County in northeastern Kenya on 2 Jun [2018] with fever, body weakness, and bleeding from the gums and mouth. The patient reported having consumed meat from a sick animal; the patient died the same day. On 4 Jun [2018], 2 relatives of the index patient were admitted.
