PRO/AH/EDR> Eastern equine encephalitis - USA (22): (WI,MI) equine

Eastern Equine Encephalitis -- United States
On 15 Sep 2016, the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development received notice that a 4 month old standardbred filly from Clare County had tested positive for eastern equine encephalitis (EEE). The filly developed a sudden fever, began staggering, and eventually became unable to rise. The filly was not vaccinated against EEE and died.
