West Nile Virus -- Romania
Yet another 2 persons died in the last week after getting infected with the West Nile virus, boosting the death toll to 8, according to a National Public Health Institute release. According to the source, in the 2016 season 1 May through 22 Sep [2016], as many as 77 cases of West Nile infection were registered, of which 8 were fatal: 1 in eastern Braila, 2 in nearby Ialomita, 1 in northeastern Iasi, 1 in central Mures, 1 in southern Teleorman and 2 in Bucharest.
