Zika virus -- Colombia
The Caldas Territorial Health Office reports that there are now 12 cases of Zika virus [infection] in the department. The Municipality with the most cases is Marmato.
To date 8 cases have been recorded in Marmato, 2 in La Dorada, 1 in Chinchina, and 1 in Riosucio.
Zika virus [infection] is [transmitted] by mosquito bite, and is caused by a virus classified as an arbovirus in the flavivirus genus, in which mosquitoes and tick [vectors] are a part [or transmission].
