Taiwan is still in the peak season for Japanese encephalitis, with 4 new cases confirmed across the nation last week, according to a statement issued on Tuesday [17 Jul 2018] by the [Taiwan] Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
The 4 cases of Japanese encephalitis reported last week ranged in age from 37-52 years. One each of the cases was recorded in Yilan, Taoyaun, Yunlin and Hualien. All 4 patients are in intensive care, and one of them is still unconscious, the CDC said.
