Avian Influenza H5N8 -- Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture on Fri 20 Jul 2018 confirmed one case of avian flu in Al Azizya bird market in Riyadh.
The ministry spokesman, Abdullah Abalkhail, said in a statement that the ministry took measures to control the spread of the disease when they detected the 1st case amongst ducks, who are suitable hosts of the ailment.
Abalkhali warned bird owners and poultry business personnel to stay away from Al Azizya market until the sterilization period is over
