The term foot rot is a generic syndromic term associated with different bacteria and risk factors in different species.
The links to ovine foot rot with the implication that transmission from domestic species to free ranging species could become a widespread problem are a bit off base. _Dichelobacter nodosus_ is a different agent and not related to treponeme-associated disease (hairy heel warts) observed in confined dairy herds.
