Nipah/Hendra Virus -- India
Tragedy has once again struck the family of Sooppikkada village in Kerala's Kozhikode district as one more member succumbed to the Nipah virus infection on [Thu 24 May 2018].
District Medical Officer V Jayashree told The Hindu that V. the man, 60, who had been undergoing treatment at Baby Memorial Hospital in the city, died on [24 May 2018] in the morning.
This is the 4th death in the family as the man's 2 sons and sister-in-law, had died of the infection since [5 May 2018].
