Strangles -- United States
The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has confirmed a case of strangles in an 8-year-old Quarter Horse mare from Wayne County. The horse is recovering and no quarantines were enacted.
As of 26 Jan 2018, strangles was added to Michigan's reportable disease list, which can be found on . This is the first reported case of strangles in Michigan in 2018.
