Hantavirus -- Panama
The Ministry of Health (MINSA) in Los Santos province this morning [Fri 20 Oct 2017] confirmed that a 10-year-old child who was moved, was positive for [a] hantavirus [infection].
The epidemiologist Carlos Muñoz stated that this child from Las Tablas Abajo, was admitted to the Joaquin Pablo Franco hospital with a sickle cell-like presentation this past [Tue 17 Oct 2017], but since he did not recover and because his platelets declined, a hantavirus test was done.
