Malaria -- Costa Rica
The Costa Rica Health Ministry has declared sanitary alert in the country for malaria due to an increase in the risk of transmission after knowing of an important number of infected patients in Nicaragua.
Although between the years 2012 and 2015 Costa Rica had not had any malaria cases there were a few patients in 2016 and this year [2017] there have been isolated native cases, 4 in Matina (Limón), 3 in Sarapiquí, Heredia, and 2 in Pital, San Carlos.
