Avian Influenza H7N9 -- China
On 18 August 2017, the NHFPC reported one laboratory-confirmed human case of infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) virus in China. The case-patient was a 47-year-old male from Hunan province who developed symptoms on [Wed 9 Aug 2017] and was admitted to hospital on [Sat 12 Aug 2017]. He passed away on [Sun 13 Aug 2017]. He was reported to have had exposure to live poultry markets.
