[There has been delayed posting of daily MERS-CoV activity on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia MOH website over the past week. Hence, I apologize for not posting on the 4 newly confirmed cases yesterday (4 Jan 2017). - Mod.MPP]
As of 13:00 [1:00 PM] today [5 Jan 2017], there have been a total of:
1529 laboratory-confirmed cases of MERS-CoV infection, including
636 deaths [reported case fatality rate 41.6 per cent],
880 recoveries, and
13 currently active cases [including 3 asymptomatic
