PRO/AH/EDR> Mycobacterium mungi, mongoose: new route of TB transmission

Scientists have discovered that a [recently discovered] species of bacteria, _Mycobacterium mungi_, can be transmitted through [urine and anal gland secretion] of banded mongoose in Northern Botswana. The findings, published on 10 May 2016 in the journal mBio, radically changes scientists' understanding of how tuberculosis can be transmitted.
