Japanese Encephalitis -- India
While the number of acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) has been less in the state of Maharashtra, in comparison to other north Indian states, data shared by the state's health department showed a steady increase in the number of cases in the past 3 years.
While 3 years ago in 2017 [2 years ago?], the number of AES cases was only one and in 2018 there were 48 cases, this year (2019), within 6 months, around 74 cases are already reported in Vidarbha region of the state.
