A potato virus that has the potential to affect crop production has been found to be widespread, meaning eradication is impossible. The potato mop-top virus (PMTV) was discovered in Canterbury in 2018 [ProMED-mail post http://bit.ly/2P2pOhD]. It was the 1st time the virus had been found in New Zealand.
