County health officials said Friday [5 Jul 2019] that new probable _E. coli_ cases involving 2 young children are believed to be linked to contact with animals at the San Diego County Fair. The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) announced the following details on the 2 new probable cases:
- 2-year-old who visited the fair and reported contact with animals on 22 Jun 2019, fell ill 4 days later, but was not hospitalized
- 4-year-old who visited the fair and reported
