The news continues to be bad for bats in the Tar Heel state [North Carolina].
After receiving results from winter bat surveys recently, biologists with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission and NC State Parks have confirmed the presence of _Pseudogymnoascus destructans_ (Pd), the fungal pathogen that causes white-nose syndrome (WNS), in 4 new counties in North Carolina.
