African Swine Fever -- Japan
The African swine fever virus [ASFV] has been detected in a contagious state on Japanese soil for the 1st time, the government said Tuesday [2 Apr 2019]. The government has in the past detected genes of the ASFV in food brought from overseas, but never before has the virus been confirmed as being at an infectious stage.
