Hantavirus -- Chile
The 9th case of a hantavirus infection in the Los Lagos region was confirmed by the Health SEREMI [local ministerial unit].
The affected individual is a 19-year-old youth from the Llanquihue locality, who was positive in the initial rapid test done in Puerto Montt and later tests were done in Valdivia
The patient was sent to Santiago where he is admitted to the intensive care unit of the Tórax Hospital.
