Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever -- Namibia
The Ministry of Health and Social Services today [10 Mar 2017] announced a 2nd confirmed case of the Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) from Omaheke region. A 19 year old male from Okongoua village [Omaheke region] was bitten by a tick on 1 Mar 2017.
"The patient presented CCHF like symptoms on 5 Mar 2017 at the Corridor Post 13 Primary Health Care Clinic," the ministry's spokesperson Ester Paulus announced. She said the ministry immediately transferred the patient to Gobabis State
