Canine distemper -- United States
Fish and Game officials are reminding residents to keep their pets' vaccinations up to date after several gray foxes were recently found dead in the Upper Connecticut River Valley and southern New Hampshire.
The foxes showed signs of canine distemper, which is a contagious infection that can be deadly, officials said. The viral infection can also occur in coyotes, skunks, raccoons, mink, weasel, fisher cats and otter.
