Burkholderia cepacia -- United States
At least 2 patients in New Jersey have contracted _Burkholderia cepacia_ bloodstream infections related to a multistate outbreak that may be associated with pre-filled saline flushes, the state Department of Health announced Tue [4 Oct 2016]. The department is investigating the outbreak, along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, the NJ Board of Pharmacy and other state departments.
