Scrub Typhus -- Nepal
A person died of scrub typhus in the course of treatment at Chitwan Medical Hospital in Chitwan [district] on [Sun 21 Aug 2016]. The victim is a [25-year-old] of Rupakot VDC [village development committee], Tanahu [district]. Earlier, a woman of Mangalpur, Chitwan had succumbed to the disease at the same health facility some days ago.
At least one patient died while 23 others were diagnosed with the disease at the hospital in the past week. Of 39 patients, 23 have scrub typhus.
