A case of rabies has been confirmed in Hickory Township.
Dr. Erin Moore, a veterinarian with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture in Greensbsurg, said 2 humans and a dog were exposed last month [February 2016] to a raccoon that tested positive for rabies. The raccoon's diagnosis was confirmed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Veterinary Laboratory in Harrisburg.
