Meningitis - Neisseria -- Italy
A 50-year-old woman from Campi Bisenzio, near Florence, has been confirmed as having contracted [meningococcal?] meningitis [serogroup] C, bringing the total cases of [meningococcal?] meningitis in the region to 12 thus far this year [2016], the local health authority said on Monday [8 Feb 2016].
The woman is being treated in the infectious diseases unit of Florence's Careggi Hospital and didn't have direct contact with the public in her administrative job.
